Summary:
A shipping/receiving leader is responsible for the accurate and timely shipping and receiving of products, materials, and supplies. They also communicate with other departments, such as purchasing, sales, and logistics, to ensure the smooth running of the business.
Some of the responsibilities of a shipping/receiving leader include:
- Planning production with the line lead
- Prioritizing, planning, and communicating delivery estimates to customers with sales
- Communicating tracking and logistics details to customers
- Organizing, coordinating, and inspecting RGAs
- Keeping track of back orders with purchasing and sales
Shipping/receiving leaders may also be responsible for:
- Leading, training, and supervising shipping associates
- Ensuring the safe movement and loading of customer products
- Guiding teams in receiving, stocking, and rotating merchandise
- Managing product displays, zoning, and inventory accuracy
