Summary: The Process Engineer evaluates customers products including specifications to develop manufacturing plans and produce the products according to the customer needs. This position requires extensive design & manufacturing expertise as well as an understanding of equipment cost for evaluation purposes.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assists on all aspects of Processing, which include Process Development, System Layout, Process Verification, Product / Process change impact, cycle time analysis, ergonomic evaluations, joining requirement (weld, SPR, TOX, etc..) staging, joining equipment selection and validation, Spare Parts, Documentation and Manuals, progress reporting, quoting and estimating.
  • Interprets automotive product drawings and manufacturing specifications
  • Understands ergonomic considerations for proposed processes Maintains knowledge of PC based software such as Microsoft Word and Excel Works with Throughput Simulation Operators and Robot Simulation Operators to verify the viability of processes.
  • Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns in client facilities as well as in the customer’s facilities
  • Adheres to the Quality System and participates in continuous improvement.
  • Performs other departmental functions as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential function of this job.

Experience:

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schematic drawings, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and create lesson plans and outlines.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, students or employees of the organization.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • REASONING ABILITY-Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
